| The Thomas Marlowe Books, dubbed The Brethren of the Coast
Trilogy by the publisher, chronicle the life of retired pirate Thomas
Marlowe. I never had much interest in pirates, I think because of all
aspects of maritime history, piracy is the one that gets the most popular
attention, and so, perverse cuss that I am, I wanted nothing to do with the
subject. In the Author's Note on the Guardship page I talk about how the
character of Marlowe came to be. I must say, once I began reading more about
the reality of piracy, I became more and more fascinated by the subject. Now
I am quite a pirate fan, even to the extent of acting as Chief Pirate at the
Maine Maritime Museum's annual Pirate Party.
I have finally mellowed out on the subject.
The Marlowe books are currently a trilogy, and it looks as if they will
remain that way. Click on the titles below
