Biddlecomb

A number of readers have contacted me asking when or if there will be more books in the Isaac Biddlecomb series. I am grateful for their interest and will answer the question here for anyone else who might be wondering the same.

Isaac and crew have been stuck in a sort of contractual limbo for a few years now. I call them prisoners of the publishing wars. Pocket Books has decided not to publish any more of the series, but at the same time will not put it out of print, as they are still selling. Another publisher is not going to be interested in the series unless they can also publish the first five (they don't want to promote another publisher's books) so until Pocket relinquishes the rights, the series is stuck.

It has always been my desire to continue the series, to at least en books, and I still hope to do so. As of now, Pocket has agreed to sell the rights to another publisher, and once we are finished with current projects we hope to pursue that. So hold a turn, as the Maine lobstermen say, and hopefully Isaac et al will sail again.

For those new to the series, here is some more information...

The books of the Revolution at Sea Saga concern the adventures of American sea captain Isaac Biddlecomb as he is drawn into the events of the American Revolution and becomes part of the newly created United States Navy. There are currently five Revolution at Sea books, covering the period from 1775 to the summer of 1777. There are no immediate plans for more books in the series, though the author intends to eventually get Captain Biddlecomb through the entire war.
